SUMMER ATHLETIC CONDITIONING GUIDELINES

There are numerous restrictions and requirements that are mandatory. Some teams may not be able to offer "in person" conditioning this summer, as they cannot meet the strict guidelines prescribed by the State of California and Public Health Department. Coaches may choose to send students daily workouts that can be done from home to ensure that all students remain safe.

Smaller schools and districts like SLV and SV do not have the staffing or resources to manage many of the current requirements. All conditioning sessions will be voluntary for coaches and students. The SLVHS Athletic Director, Chris Coulson, will be providing information to coaches, along with meeting times and training session updates. The coaching staff and district employees will make every effort to wear masks (when and where appropriate), maintain social distancing, and clean equipment and facilities. Coaches will provide specific information regarding each team to parents and students.

Thank you for your understanding that Athletic Conditioning may not look the same as it has in the past. Teams may begin after July 6, 2020 with approval from the SLVHS Athletic Director. The Santa Cruz County Guidelines are attached for your review.
