Laura was nominated by her peers for this honor and is representative of a group of exemplary leaders in education, going above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that our public school children receive a high-quality education.
Laura is a strong mentor to other teachers, a loving and caring educator for her students, and a creative and generous colleague and leader. She has also provided outstanding support for students through Reading Recovery, a research-based intervention to support young students to improve their reading skills.
The Santa Cruz County Board of Education will be honoring Laura’s achievements at their upcoming (virtual) May 21st Board meeting.
