Dr. Laurie Bruton, Superintendent, Dr. Bruton has a master’s degree in educational administration and a doctorate of education in organizational leadership. She has spent three decades in education, most of those years at Bear Valley Unified School District serving as a teacher and principal at an elementary school, then as a high school principal and finally as an assistant superintendent. Dr. Bruton previously served as an assistant superintendent for the Whittier City School District in Whittier.
Christopher Schiermeyer, Chief Business Officer, started in education fifteen years ago as a math and science teacher at the middle school level. After five years of teaching, he moved into administration, where he has been a K-12 administrator, with the majority of his experience being at the secondary level. Christopher held the position of Director of Secondary Education, overseeing six middle schools, four comprehensive high schools, three alternative schools, a charter school, and adult school, prior to moving back to San Lorenzo Valley as the Director of Personnel. He received his Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Master’s in Education as well as Administrative Credential from the University of California, Riverside. His elementary, middle, high, and charter school experience and educational background will provide a wealth of knowledge and dialogue as we move forward as a district committed to excellence and continuous improvement.
Debi Bodenheimer, Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services, started in education 20 years ago as a middle school teacher. She then moved into administration, serving four years as an assistant principal. Debi then went on to become the planning and founding principal of Don Callejon School in Santa Clara Unified, a K-8 school that was opened in 2006. From there Debi served as Director of Curriculum and Instruction in the Campbell Union School District for six years. Lastly, Debi served as a coach/consultant for Pivot Learning Partners, working on Common Core implementation. Debi was born and raised in Santa Cruz, and attended Harbor High School. After high school she attended Harvard University, where she received her Bachelor's Degree and teacher certification. She also holds a Master's Degree in Education from Stanford University.
